Trump praised for his boldness

By Bud Lambert 3 min read

This letter is in response to the commentary by Russell Moore in the Dec. 9 edition of the Herald-Standard titled “Christians can’t condone Trump”s remarks.”

Well Mr. Moore let me begin by saying I find it ironic that we “Christians” are being charged with the same thing that you and many others do, and that would be suggesting that we “Christians” are all the same. For example, I don’t go to church because all the Christians that go there are hypocrites.

Or, Christians can’t condone Trumps remarks.

I changed my label a long time ago. I went from a Christian to a blood-bought soul who is saved from the depths of hell through the blood of Jesus Christ. And this comes by repenting from you sins and asking for forgiveness and asking him to come into your heart to be the lord of your life. That’s what I believe.

Now, I am going to educate you a little on God’s word. There are going to be some who disagree with me on this. The Old Testament is just as important as the new. It’s the forerunner of the new. The main difference is the sacrifice. You being an evangelical Christian know what I am talking about. Now, I am going to show you Mr. Moore and prove to you that God is not only a loving God, so much as he gave his only begotten son, to a God of wrath.

Go to your Bible and go to 1 Samuel and read chapter 15. Look at verse 2 and 3. Beginning in verse 2. This is what the Lord Almighty says, I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they come up from Egypt Verse 3. Now go, attack the Amalekites and destroy everything that belongs to them; put to death men and women , children and infants and sheep camels and donkeys. Does this so unfamiliar Mr. Moore? Can you say Muslim? God had a very good reason for this. I will tell you in just a moment

God wanted Saul to lead his army to battle to do this. Saul didn’t do exactly what he was instructed to do.

He never killed everything. God wanted to wipe out the entire gene pool of the Amalekites because He didn’t want them coming back. You see, the Amalekites persecuted the Israelites on their way out of Egypt. As a matter of fact Haman, a descendent of an Amalekite was a no-good-for-nothing prime minister of Persia. He came back, and as your typical Amalekite, he wanted to destroy the Jews.

Mr. Moore, God wanted Saul to kill not only the men , but women and the children too. And all Mr Trump wants to do is stop them from coming into this country? And don’t tell me this isn’t for today, that Old Testament stuff. I defy anybody to tell me how this doesn’t pertain to today. I do not hate Muslims nor do I want to see anybody hurt or killed. Something has to be done and Mr. Trump is bold enough to take that first step,  and please don’t say gun control. That is another issue that I will debate with anyone, however they are the most counter-productive forums I have ever done.

As the old saying goes, “How are you going to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you come from.”
