Vicites praised

2 min read

I am writing this letter to the editor in response to Suzanne Teslovich’s letter in the Herald-Standard on Sept. 30th. What her letter failed to address is that when Teslovich was defeated by Vince Vicites years ago, that election was a turning point for Fayette County.

Vince Vicites was a full-time, dedicated and educated county commissioner who immediately sprung into action after taking office to get the county back on track. A candidate with proven leadership, Vicites began planning for business park/infrastructure enhancements that would help create new jobs in Fayette, and thus help to “turn a new leaf” for the economy. Vicites secured $125 million for economic development and infrastructure projects from federal and state sources; funds that never would have come to Fayette County without his determination and hard work.

In addition to his economic development efforts, Vicites secured funding for all of our business parks in Fayette County including being the chairman of the county commissioners and taking the lead with development of the business park on Route 40, which was a total of $17 million in infrastructure for water, sewage, roads and lighting. This park has had major development of nearly $100 million in new, private investment and has created hundreds of new jobs.

A firm believer in strong fiscal management, Vicites accomplished all of this development carefully and responsibly. In the general election this November, I am choosing to vote for Vince Vicites for county commissioner because he is the candidate you know and trust. He has the diverse, in-depth experience to get the job done right. A vote for Vince Vicites is a vote for proven, honest leadership.
