Jesus had odds stacked against him

2 min read

As Christmas is fast approaching it is the most exciting, joyous time of the year.

I know of one, though, that it has to bring back horrible memories. This person was born for the sole purpose of dying for the world. He had the odds stacked against him from the very start, which he could have very easily overcome.

He was born in a barn. Then the king wanted to kill him. He began his ministry at the age 30 and the first thing he did was choose his disciples. He needed them to help him tell the world about salvation. One of the requirements was that you had to do was renounce everything that you owned. In other words “give up.”

Then Jesus traveled all over healing people performing miracles, not refusing anyone healing that ask. Leaders hated him to the point to where they wanted to kill him. He traveled no more than 200 miles frpm home and never went to college.

He never was in the armed forces let alone held a position, never commanded a navy warship or was never in the air force. As a matter of fact He never condoned wars. He loved everybody, and he had such a profound influence on people that he changed lives forever. He changed mine.

Then after about three years had passed, his time had come.  e held in my opinion, the most famous meal of all time “The Last Supper.” He told Judas, that he was going to betray him. Jesus then kissed him on the cheek.

At any rate the Roman soldiers then came and took him. Then, they put him on trial. Pilate was his name. He drilled Jesus with questions and finally told everyone, “I find no fault with this man.” Then pilate told the crowd that it was the custom to let one prisoner go. He said the people could decide between a murderer or Jesus. The crowd started to go crazy yelling, “crucify him, crucify him!”

This story will be continued on Easter Sunday.
