Vicites sets the record straight

1 min read

I am writing to set the record straight on the misinformation being said by a few individuals at the Fayette County commissioners’ meeting on Feb. 18 and in a recent letter to the editor.

I have corrected this misinformation at the commissioners’ meeting, but I would like to explain it further to the citizens of Fayette County.

The commissioners did not increase their combined salary figure in the 2016 county budget from $150,472 to $167,833. This is false. The fact is the correct figure in the 2016 amended adopted county budget had a combined salary figure for the Commissioners that went from $164,676 to $167,833. The increase was set in 2010 at a public meeting by a former board of commissioners.

Vincent A. Vicites, chairman

Fayette County Commissioners
