Shuster backed in primary race

2 min read

Congressman Bill Shuster has earned my vote in the upcoming April 26 primary election.

He has earned my vote because of his solid credentials in the areas of job creation and fiscal conservatism. Shuster’s position as chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the House is critical for our area — from railroad jobs to good highways to promoted commerce. Shuster has been a leader on important infrastructure projects, which creates and supports job growth, across central and southwestern Pennsylvania.

The person challenging Shuster has attempted to use trade issues to mislead the voters about jobs. But while the opponent is spreading totally inaccurate information regarding the subject of trade, the informed voter will check the Congressional Record and learn Shuster hasn’t voted for any international trade deal(s) this entire Congress. The opponent is also peddling disinformation about Shuster regarding government spending.

Congressman Shuster has done what he said he would do — oppose higher spending. Shuster has repeatedly voted against trillions of dollars in new spending, which would explode the national deficit. At the same time, Shuster has protected funding for our military; national security (including border control); and the pensions of our deserving veterans. Rather than provide funding for these extremely important services, Shuster’s opponent supports shutting down the government, which would hurt conservatives.

A vote for Shuster on April 26 is a vote for conservative values, effective leadership and a stronger future for America.
