With the fall election upon us, we have a choice to go in a new and innovative direction to instill hope, create jobs, and tackle our overwhelming drug epidemic, or we can stay content with the demoralizing status quo.

Through my career as a UMWA laborer, machine operator, mine engineer and mine ventilation manager, I have seen the direct positive impact of the coal industry and the support jobs related to mining. Barges, trains, powerlines, fabrication shops, welders, boilermakers, electricians and other contractors ae all now suffering from overregulation.

Bud Cook has a vision and commitment to remove the ridiculous regulation burden on everyone in the state and of building a coal to gasoline conversion facility. It would be a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year operation. Our miners and support personnel would go back to work and make a good wage! Why would we continue to buy foreign oil from nations that have funded terrorism that scared our own state?

We shall never forget 9/11. We need to keep our citizens safe. Keeping our money here to create jobs for our Pennsylvania citizens and no longer funding other nations does just that. We nedd true American-made energy that creates and sustains quality American jobs. Isn’t that part of the American dream?

Cook has an innovative plan to bring jobs to the region and the state. Coal conversion to gasoline is just one piece of his economic plan. Utilizing our natural resources is the key!
