A paid Russian communist troll? I don’t think so

By Gary S. Varesko 5 min read

James Sloan in his letter on Nov. 29 makes reference to my commentary “Lifetime democrat has a change of heart” that appeared in the November 8 issue. He insinuates that I am a stupid retired Maryland State Trooper and a paid communist Russian troll because I support our President Trump. First of all Mr. Sloan, if you are going to bash me, at least spell my name correctly. Secondly, you know absolutely NOTHING about me. Accusing me of these ridiculous accusations is very unfair just as it would be unfair of me to accuse you of suffering from dementia due to your 72 years of age and perhaps having brain damage from years of pollution from the Hatfield power station when the westerly winds struck the mountains at Hopwood.

As a trooper in the late 1970s, I was one of the top DUI arrest producers at my installation. My enforcement efforts most likely saved some lives. In the early 1980s, I reconstructed many fatal accidents involving alcohol. Back then, unlike today, I had no computer to do my drawings and calculations. I had to rely on my physics background to complete my reports. In those cases, I had a 100 percent conviction rate. Not bad for being stupid.

When I became a medevac pilot, not only did I fly many law enforcement missions, but also I made over 350 medevacs, thus saving many lives. In September, 1989, I was critically injured in a crash of a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter trying to save an 18-year-old woman who had two broken femurs and was 8-1/2 months pregnant . When I recovered 16 months later, I returned to flight status and trained in a $6 million helicopter. I completed my training in a little over half the time of some other pilots. Not bad for being stupid.

On Veterans Day, Trump was meeting with many world leaders, not just Putin, dealing with matters such as unfair trade deals and the deranged North Korean leader. We would notbe in the situation with North Korea if it wasn’t for President Clinton’s stupidity in October 1994, giving $4 billion to North Korea to dismantle their nuclear program. How about Iran? Do you think the $150 billion President Obama gave them will stop their nuclear program? I doubt it. Remember back in March 2012, when Obama at the nuclear security summit in Seoul, South Korea, was caught on an open microphone telling outgoing Russian President Dimitry Medveden, “This is my last election. After my election, I will have more flexibility.” Medveden replied, “I will transmit this information to Vladimir.” This referred to the missile defense system in Europe which Russia opposed.

Mr. Sloan stated that I am a supporter of criminal activity. If that were the case, I would have supported Hillary Clinton. To list all of the federal statutes that she violated dealing with classified information on a private email server, I would exceed the maximum word count permitted in this article. In addition to the crimes I believe she committed, I also believe she obstructed justice by destroying over 30,000 emails on her private server and by destroying many electronic devices. However, former FBI Director Comey gave Hillary a pass. He already had drafted a letter exonerating her before she was interviewed and before the investigation was complete. How about Bill Clinton meeting with Attorney General Lynch in October, 2016? After that meeting, Lynch instructed Comey to refer to the email incident as a “matter” and not an investigation. Now, that sounds like real collusion and obstruction of justice to me.

Mueller’s special council’s sole purpose was to investigate possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia. It has found none. In fact, this council is riddled with many conflicts of interest and biases. Those will be pointed out in another article. Did Russia try to interfere with our election? Probably, but no more than the Obama administration tried to interfere with Israels election of Benjamin Netanyahu by giving thousands of dollars to oppose him. Truth be known, Russia would probably have preferred Clinton as President because she would be such a “pushover.” An example of this was how easy it was for Russia to have her, while Secretary of State, approve the uranium one deal giving Russia control of 20 percent of our uranium.

There needs to be a special council appointed to investigate this scandal. However, Mueller couldn’t lead it because that deal went down under his watch while he was the FBI director. In 2009, the FBI had an undercover informant that collected compelling evidence that Russian operatives were interested in our uranium. (NOTE: The Clinton Foundation was mentioned in this collected evidence. Subsequently, $146 million was donated to the foundation by individuals involved.) The FBI did nothing to stop this deal, other than having the informant sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). In other words, “HUSH, or face prosecution if you reveal any information.” Fortunately for America, the justice department has lifted that agreement and the informant can now testify before Congress.

Mr. Sloan, it’s not supporters of Trump that want our democracy to fail. It’s people like you and the obstructionist Democrats in Congress that are suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome” that will contribute to its failure.

On a final note, if Russia ever sends me money, I will forward the funds to Congress instructing them to apply them to the “sexual harassment hush fund” that’s used to settle cases.
