America is in the midst of a spiritual crisis

By Ron Misiewicz 3 min read

Forty-nine years have passed since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. The only lesson to be learned since then is that social and economic justice, racial equality, love of God and neighbor cannot be legislated. We must appeal to a higher level. The Supreme Court of men is still subordinate to the divine court.

The state-of-the-nation is perplexity and distress – social, economic and political chads. I don’t own a television set; but on a Sunday morning after returning from Mass, I was exposed to a news program of some sort where everybody is talking and nobody is listening. A score of conflicting theories were offered, but there was no unifying philosophy … the left-leaning Tower of Babble is about to collapse.

The state-of-the-individual is stress, mental/emotional health issues, attention-deficit-disorder, psychoses, neuroses, and the new “liberal progressive” disorder; identity-crisis.

In the midst of unprecedented material wealth, a fake rich has made us real poor. Humanity is suffering serious spiritual starvation. The soul’s wealth is virtue, and when that is lost, a 21st century liberated, frustrated soul seeks to compensate for its internal nakedness with external, physical, material and carnal substitutes – an exercise in futility, like a dog chasing its tail, endless, mindless pursuit with no lasting satisfaction.

The morning-after hangover compels to seek more of the same psychological escapism, in false hope that the mischievous habit that has enslaved the victim will provide the elusive happiness and peace of soul that comes only from God, who is love – sexual perversion, drug addiction, alcohol addiction are rampant in a pop-culture society suffering the suicidal effects of ideological liberalism, an intellectual cancer that ravages moral fiber.

It is reported that 70 percent of millennials have no affiliation with any religious denomination – and what about the next generation to follow?

The last eight years under the most radicalized liberal “progressive” administration in our nation’s history has seen thought-police patrol the elite “progressive” Ivy-league institutions of learning, silencing all opposition to “politically-correct” party – state doctrine. What does that sound like? Don’t kid yourself, history does repeat when good men do nothing.

However, “Be not afraid, I go before you always. Come follow me, and I will give you rest.” Those are lyrics from the New Testament, Symphony of Harmony, by Jesus Christ Superstar.

We the people, “bitter clingers” – to quote Obama, and inhabitants of a “basket of deplorables” – to quote Hillary, have won a crucial victory in the war for the soul of America, under God, on the political surface of Mother Earth. It’s now time to ascend to a higher level. All wisdom begins with reverence for God and is followed by respect for human life;from conception until natural death.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once spoke of “going to the mountain” as his predecessors Moses, Peter, James and John had done. Dr. King returned with the same command: “This is my beloved son, listen to him.”

We have arrived in our soul’s journey through time when divinity and humanity must integrate. The inexhaustible power source is always available. The only thing lacking is our desire to plug-in.

God love you all
