Trump makes outlandish charge
The president’s accusation that Barack Obama had his Trump Tower phones tapped would be hilarious if it were not so tragic.
It comes straight out of the Trump playbook, which directs that when one is under attack, they should seek to change the subject, to divert attention by making some outlandish and preposterous charge with nothing to back it up.
It is frightening that many swallow hook, line, and sinker everything that Donald Trump says, no matter how foolish or outrageous. Those who accept with no evidence whatsoever that Barack Obama is guilty of committing an unlawful act against our current president are certainly the same people who believe, even now, that Mr. Obama is a secret Muslim who was born in Kenya.
Notwithstanding his delivery of a State of the Union Address in which he was able to read from a Teleprompter without going off script, comporting himself as a sane, civilized human being for a change, our president has done little to assure us that the four long years ahead will be anything but a harrowing ride on a roller coaster which ultimately derails.
