US has to get back to worshiping God

By Ron Misiewicz 3 min read

Connellsville is truly the ‘Jewel of the Yough” as often stated by Father Bob Lubic of the Catholic community and Tony Grasso of Grasso Greenhouse.

It’s also a “shining city,” under God, as witnessed after the devastating flood on Aug. 28, exemplifying the words “Love one another as I have loved you.”

Kudos are in order for all involved in the simply marvelous opening performance of “Beauty and the Beast” recently in the Connellsville Area High School Auditorium.

In the scene where Belle (Chloe Guie) was reunited with her father, she sang about a change in her thinking and how she began to see all things differently after her enlightening and loving encounter with the Beast (Jordan Kosisko).

At this extraordinary time in our soul’s travel, when a “movement” has begun on the visible, physical surface to restore law and order and renew the values, traditions, fixed creeds and certitudes that made America the greatest nation in the history of the world, it is imperative that a revival begin on the invisible spiritual level, perfecting our inner-ethical selves by shifting emphasis from the mortal body to the immortal soul.

Returning to God with all possible reverence and “rendering our hearts, not our garments,” so that through a ‘personal encounter’ with God, we may begin to experience a change in our thinking and to see things from a completely different perspective. To be locked in the prison of our own limited minds, trapped in the dimension of time with eternity lost, has severely limited our horizons.

The top priority of all church leaders, in these chaotic times of mental/emotional anguish, neuroses, psychoses, attention deficit disorder, drug and alcohol abuse, identity crisis and sex deification, must be to return to the primary business entrusted to them by Jesus himself–.saving souls from the ravages of sin, transgression of God’s law.

The “political correctness” of the radicalized liberal left to silence the truth and separate God from all human activity, has got to go!

God is love and spirit. Our immortal souls are love and spirit. The two must integrate and complement one another as in the incarnation. The complexity of the unique human personality, body/soul-matter/spirit, requires that all components lend themselves to investigation.

In the current “progressive” atmosphere of cynicism and crude materialism; liberation psychology, philosophy and theology; precious souls are suffering spiritual suffocation and starvation, leading to very bad choices and mischievous behaviors below the dignity and nobility of men and women created in the image and likeness of God!

There is a communication/information system that dwarfs the internet, traveling at speeds exceeding the velocity of light squared. It is available free of charge to all with sincere desire to subscribe. It is essential, however, that all electronic annoyances be turned off. For those suffering nomophobia, it may require rehab.

Saint Mother Teresa, God rest her soul, distributed thousands of miraculous medals and business cards to many people seeking love and meaning and purpose, including brutal dictators. The business card read: “The fruit of silence is prayer – The fruit of prayer is faith – The fruit of faith is love – The fruit of love is service – The fruit of service is peace.”

God love you all.
