Honesty best policy when dealing with race

2 min read

In his frequently published commentary, Richard Robbins, who I believe to be a very nice guy, tries desperately to be politically correct instead of totally honest in some matters. Especially when dealing with so-called minorities. Well, when blacks or any other ethnic group comprise more than 50 percent of the population as they do in many of our cities, they are no longer a minority and should not be afforded any different treatment under the law than anyone else. Thomas Jefferson’s well-meaning but totally false words, “that all men are created equal’ should say exactly what he meant, which is the way John Adams wanted it, “All men are equal before the law.”

In just reading Mr. Robbins’ Sept. 10 commentary, which is very well intended, does he realize that almost everything he pushes for will raise taxes and ultimately the end users cost. A good equations is very important and the foundation of this is the parents and the home they are raised in. Private schools hardly existed for middle class Americans until the last 40 years as dope invaded our schools, discipline softened to nothing and a fraction of our successfully population scuttled all prayer or Bible reading because it might offend the agnostic minority.

When the values our founding fathers forged this nation’s values on drift further and further out of sight, we are surely heading into uncharted waters with questionable navigational experience. Many, many middle-class Americans are a short distance from chaos in their affairs caused by job changes, health issues, a criminal act, a serious weather issue, a war or internal family problems, just to name a few.

We have become a highly dependent society in order to live the wonderful standards we enjoy, so no one should disregard the value of his fellow man’s roll in a complex society.
