State legislators need to do their job
Harrisburg keeps wanting everyone to pay there fair share but when are they going to give us the fair share we pay for. A first-grader could balance the budget the way they do, just keep giving them more money. When the working family runs out of money, they have to make cuts, it is about time Harrisburg starts cutting wasteful spending and get something done with the money they have.
We have the highest gas tax and tolls in the country, but driving on the worst roads and not getting better and they want more money. PennDOT needs to put in a work week, their motto is when the windshield wipers work we don’t and we pay for this and the old story from years ago still stands, about the three boys talking about who had the fastest dad. First boy said his dad could hit a baseball and go catch it. Second boy said that’s fast but my dad can shoot a arrow and run and catch it. Third boy said that’s nothing my dad works for PennDOT and gets off work at three but is home at two.
Harrisburg wants more money for education and that is good but giving teachers more does not make children smarter. When I went to school, teachers were teachers cause they care for children, now most of them care only about money and time off, and hold children hostage to get what they want. They work 180 days a year and want to make more then someone who works 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year, in some cases.
When a contractor works on school property, even when there are no children around, they are subjected drug testing. Why are teachers not randomly drug tested? Just because they are teachers doen’t make them better then someone else.
Also tax payers are getting tired of paying for able bodied people on welfare and food stamps buying cigarettes, beer, drugs and tattoos. If they can buy these things, they can feed and care for themselves. Why should the hard working taxpayers have to pay for them? I say, drug test them before they can get welfare and food stamps.
It is time for the people in Harrisburg to start doing their job and take care of the hard working people who pay them.
