Junior students at Geibel Catholic Junior-Senior High School in Connellsville recently received their class rings during a Mass held at the school. Junior students chose a senior to present them with their class ring during the ceremony. This is a long-standing tradition at Geibel Catholic that marks the official welcome of the junior class to the rank of upperclassmen.
Monica Kolencik of Geibel Catholic High School in Connellsville and Kyle Lukaesko of Connellsville Area High School were the recipients of the Henry J. Oppermann Sr. Student Athlete Award presented by Henry Oppermann Jr. Kolencik is running cross country this fall at Waynesburg University. Lukaesko is participating in gymnastics at William & Mary College/Springfield College.
