Laurel Highlands Class of 1969 held its 50th reunion at the Hilton Garden Inn in Uniontown. Brenda Pollak led singing of the alma mater. Guest teachers included Jack Schuessler, Bill Simpson and Jim Tobal. DJ Ron Allen provided music. An informal gathering took place the day before at Gus’s Pub. Students from Laurel Highlands Middle School NASA Leadership Team participated in an on-site mission, “Return to the Moon,’’ at the Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia. The hands-on experience allowed students to facilitate roles of a mission to the moon, including working at mission control and aboard the space craft as they practiced math, science and teamwork skills.
