Mr., Mrs. Leech mark 50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Leech of Smithfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 17. They were married in the Bobtown United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hulihan on Aug. 24, 1952.
Mrs. Leech is the former Doris Scott, daughter of the late Harold and Nell Scott.
Mr. Leech is the son of the late William Leech and Rosalee Leech, who survives.
The Leechs are active members of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where Mr. Leech has served on the Board of Trustees for many years. Mrs. Leech is a teacher of the Paul Tarcy Sunday School Class.
They are the parents of three children, Doug and his wife, Sharon; Cheryl and husband, Greg Blaney; Pam and her husband, Roger Reid.
They have seven grandchildren.
An anniversary celebration was held at the Uniontown County Club hosted by their children. They also presented their parents with a vacation at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulpher Springs, W.Va.
