Open house marks 50th anniversary
Edgar and Shirley Harris of California are being honored today at an open house in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event is being held at the California Fire Department, 101 Wood St., California, from 2 to 6 p.m.
They were married on May 21, 1952.
Mrs. Harris is the former Shirley Hartley.
Mr. Harris is a retired road supervisor for California Borough.
They have five children, Robert and his wife Alice of Republic, Mo.; Linda and her husband, James Davis, of California; Edgar Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Carmichaels; Laurie Sismondo and her fianc’ Jeff Stewart of California and Ellen Harris of Roscoe.
They also have 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
