Woods celebrate 50 years of marriage
Carl and Betty Wood of Rochester, N.Y., formerly of Fairchance, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a small dinner party hosted by their children. Mr. Wood is the son of the late Robert M. and Clara Belle Wood of Fairchance. Mrs. Wood is the daughter of the late Sidney H. and Ethel Mae Franks of Uledi.
They were married, June 22, 1952, at the Harbor of Light Interdenominational Church of Uniontown, by the Rev. Harold Davis.
After moving to Rochester, N.Y. in 1964, Carl worked for Delco, GM until retiring in 1992. Betty worked at Rehabilitation Outsource Center, retiring in 1990.
They raised five children, three sons, Carl Jr. and partner Nancy; Kevin, and the late James Brian Wood; two daughters, Twila, and husband Dr. Richard Walsh, and Carla, and husband, Colin Maxwell.
They have five grandchildren, Courtney, Bobby and Andrew Walsh; Douglas and Rebecca Maxwell.
All live in the Rochester, N.Y. area.
