Thomas and Dolores Ann Patterson of Smithfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 21, Mrs. Patterson is the former Dolores Ann Oravets, daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth Oravets of Woodside. She is the office manager for Patterson Coal Co.

Mr. Patterson is the son of the late Bart and Emma Patterson of Hopwood. He is the owner and operator of Patterson Tree Service.

They are the parents of eight sons and one daughter: Danny and Denise, Thomas Jr. and wife, Lou Ann, Steve (Duke) and wife, Lisa Marie, Mark and wife, Dianne, Dave (Gus), Doug and wife, Margaret, Mike and wife, Joy Ellen, Teddy and Dianne, and daughter, Lisa Patterson Beckman.

They have 18 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren: Danny Jr. and wife, Jayme, Shelly Grimm and husband, Brian, Stephanie Thorpe and husband, Christopher. Tommy Jr., Krystle Patterson, Christi, Jessica Patterson, Mark Jr., Matthew Patterson, J.R., Randi Patterson, Doug Jr., Heather, Elizabeth Patterson, Emelia Rose Patterson, Melissa, Ronald Jr. Beckman, Shona Patterson, deceased. Coty Liston, Patrick Hoerter and wife, Darla, Jeremy Hoerter and Jason Hoerter.

They have four great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, Kyle Patterson, Destiny, Cody Grimm, Christopher Thorpe and Stacy Jo Hoerter.

A dinner was held in their honor at Luigi’s Restaurant.
