Donald and Lucy Maruniak of Bitner celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 11. They were married at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville on May 11, 1957.

The Maruniaks, parishioners of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, are the former owners of Delligatti Shoe Store in Uniontown.

Mr. Maruniak, son of the late Andrew and Mary Maruniak, graduated from Redstone High School in 1951 and attended Duquesne University. He served in the U.S. Air Force for two years.

Mrs. Maruniak, the former Lucy R. Arcangelini and daughter of the late Michael and Rose Arcangelini, graduated form Uniontown High School in 1954 and has been a hairstylist for many years.

The Maruniaks are the parents of a daughter, Jacquelyn Speelman and husband Mike of Hopwood; two sons, Mark and wife, Janice, of Uniontown, and Richard and wife, Ginger of Laurel Hill Road.

They also have five grandchildren, Rachele and Michael Speelman, Jessica Maruniak and Kaila and Joshua Maruniak.

A dinner at the Uniontown Holiday Inn was held in their honor.
