Matthewses mark 47 years of marriage
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert D. Matthews of 65 Seventh St., Uniontown, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on Oct. 22. They were married at the Zollarsville Methodist Church, Washignton County, by the Rev. John H. Debolt and the Rev. William Gardei.
Their best man was Glenn H. Townsend. Maid of honor was Ann Luketich.
Mrs. Matthews is the former Mary Ross. She is a retired nurse.
Mr. Matthews is retired from Uniontown Newspapers Inc. after 47 years service. He retired in 1987.
They are the parents of three sons, Alan, Kenneth and Keith.
The Matthews are grandparents of four granddaughters and a grandson. They also have a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.
The couple is very active in country and Blue Grass music festivals.
A special celebration marked the occasion.
