Steve and Mary Kurnava of Royal celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 1. They were married on May 1, 1948, in St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, Smock, by the Rev. Bednarik.

They are the parents of three children, Steven Terry, Jude Ruda and Marla Romesburg.

Their grandchildren are Heather George and Geddy Romesburg. Their great-grandchildren are Levi and Charley Ann George.

Mr. Kurnava is a retired mine mechanic from Bethlehem Mines.
