Gerald and Helen Gibson of Masontown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15. They were married Dec. 15, 1956, by the Rev. Paul Tracy at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Smithfield.

Mrs. Gibson is the daughter of the late Steve and Lucy Rattay.

Mr. Gibson is the son of the late Norris and Pauline Gibson. He served eight years in the U.S. Army and was employed for 24 years for Racine Stamping in Wisconsin before retiring.

They have three children, Gerald and Susan Gibson, Debra and Robert Brown and Tammy and Christopher Schmitz. They also have four grandchildren.

A dinner reception was held in their honor in September for family and friends at the Buona Vita Restaurant and Hall in Racine, Wisc., hosted by their children and spouses.
