Zebleys celebrate 60th anniversary

Raymond and Sara Zebley recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married in Winchester, Va., on April 4, 1947.

Mr. Zebley served in the Navy during World War II and retired as a welder from the Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline after 36 years of service.

She is the former Sara Jane McGinnis who grew up in Youngstown. He grew up in Mount Independence.

They are the parents of Diane and her husband Denis Carter, and Ray and his wife Janice.

Mr. and Mrs. Zebley and both their children reside in Dawson.

They have three grandchildren, Matthew Carter, a computer technician from New York City; Katie Zebley, who is studying mathematics at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, and Sara Zebley, who will be attending Westminster College in New Wilmington this fall as a music major.

They celebrated their special occasion with a small family dinner and afterwards were presented with a song written by their granddaughter Sara, and recorded by the country band “Girlz in Black Hats.” Both granddaughters are members of the band.
