Hugh Malcolm (Bud) and Jean (Swift) Sackett of Smithfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. They were married in the Goshen Baptist Church of Morgantown, W.Va., on Jan. 26, 1958.

Mrs. Sackett is the daughter of the late Earl I. and Helen V. Swift. She is a retired medical secretary.

Mr. Sackett is the son of the late Hugh W. and Anna Sackett. He is a retired coal miner and is presently farming part-time.

They have four sons, Kevin, Greg, Todd, and Troy, all of Smithfield.

They also have nine grandchildren: Melanie, Alicia, Kevin Jr., Amanda, Krystle, Jenna, Michael, Tyler and Jase.
