Mr., Mrs. Provance mark 50th anniversary
William A. and Claire (Dolly) Provance of Hopwood celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on April 26. The former Dolly Schmidt, Mrs. Provance is the daughter of the late George and Clara Bruder Schmidt of Pittsburgh. Mr. Provance is the son of the late Minor and Mary Britt Provance of Smithfield.
They were married on April 26, 1958, at St. Basil Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh by the Rev. Rice.
Mr. Provance is a former independent trucker, and the husband-and-wife team ran a trucking dispatch terminal before their retirement.
They celebrated with a party hosted by son, Dr. William J. Provance and his wife Mary of Greensburg; son, James Provance of Dublin, Ohio, and daughter, Cheryl Ann Provance of Hopwood.
They have three grandsons, Brett, Kyle and Christian, all of Greensburg.
