Mr., Mrs. Doyle mark 50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. George R. Doyle of Hopwood celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 15. They were married Aug. 15, 1959, at St. Peter’s Church, Uniontown. Mrs. Doyle is the former Jean Pilipick, daughter of the late August and Dorothy Pilipick of Uniontown. She retired after 27 years as a bookkeeper at the Uniontown NAPA Auto Parts Store. She is now a nanny for her grandchildren.
Mr. Doyle is the son of the late William and Laura Doyle of Belle Vernon.
He retired after 24 years of service with the Stroehmann Bread Bakery. He has also served his community for 41 years as an active Hopwood Volunteer Fire Dept. firefighter. He also enjoys playing golf at Springdale and bowling at Manor Lanes.
They are the parents of Colleen and husband, Robert Madison, and Sharon Large, both of Hopwood. They also have four grandchildren, Robert Madison Jr., Ryan Madison, Taylor Large and Shannon Large, all of Hopwood.
A family dinner was held at the Coal Baron to mark the occasion.
