Bakewells honored on 60th wedding anniversary
Roy R. Sr. and Nancy Lynn Bakewell of Morgantown, N.C., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 11 with family and friends at The Red Rocker Inn in Black Mountain, N.C. The couple was married on April 13, 1949, at the Central Presbyterian Church in Brownsville. Mrs. Bakewell is the former Nancy Lynn of Newell. She is retired from the banking business in Florida.
Mr. Bakewell was born in Brownsville.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, a veteran of the Korean War and is retired from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department in Florida.
They have a son, Roy (Buzz) Bakewell Jr. and his wife, Merilee, and two grandchildren, Megan Bakewell Houston and her husband Zack, and Lindsey Bakewell.
