Raymond Edward Jr. and Linda Sue Pettitt of Hopwood celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today. They were married Aug. 22, 1960, in Oakland, Md.

Mrs. Pettitt is the daughter of the late Argel and Lida Cornell.

Mr. Pettitt is the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy Pettitt. He is retired from Sherwin Williams/CTS.

They have three children, Edwin Raymond Pettitt of Hopwood, Suzette Irene and son-in-law Larry Williams of Farmington, and April Lynn and son-in-law Vaughn Gaines of Uniontown.

They have four grandchildren, Jessie Lynn Pettitt, Vaughn Maurice Gaines II, Antwjuan Maurice Cox and Ashleigh Nicole Copland.

They also have two great-grandchildren, Jaysin Scott Davis and Jullian Gerald Gaines.

A party on Sept. 4 will be held in their honor. A trip to Branson, Mo., and Dollywood, is also planned.
