FAYETTE COUNTY MASTER GARDENER’S Pollinator Friendly Demonstration Garden will hold an informal reception at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The public is invited. Fayette County master gardeners will be on hand to talk about the importance of including plants in the garden that are beneficial to a wide variety of native pollinators. Penn State Fayette is located on Route 119 between Uniontown and Connellsville. The pollinator garden is adjacent to the library building on the campus.

BROWNSVILLE DEMOCRAT WOMEN will hold their annual picnic at Luzerne Park at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 16. Members can bring guests and covered dish.

LONG BRANCH COMMUNITY GRANGE 2072 will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the grange hall. Plans will be made for funnel making at The Covered Bridge Festival at Mingo Park Sept. 17 and 18. Final plans for an auction will also be made. The auction will be held Sept. 24 at the grange. Anyone having articles that they wish to sell at the auction can contact Amelia at 724-938-2736. Articles must be registered prior to the sale and a nominal fee will be charged to help cover expenses. Following the meeting will be an ice cream feast.

THE ANNUAL NIEMAN FAMILY REUNION will be held Aug. 21 at the Wharton Township Park off Route 40 east, Farmington. Lunch will be served as 12:30 p.m. Sharp.

OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS, open to those with compulsive eating habits, anorexics and bulimics, meets at 7 p.m. Sundays at St. Peter Church parish house, 60 Morgantown St., Uniontown. Use rear porch entrance.

ST. HUGH’S SENIOR ACTIVITY GROUP is sponsoring a bus trip to Seven Springs Sept. 21. Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. and a Polynesian fire show will be held at 1 p.m. Cost is $67 per person, which includes bus transportation, lunch, show and tax and gratuity. Pick-up will be in St. Hugh’s parking lot. For information, call 724-943-3665.

COVE RUN CHURCH will host community day Saturday at 420 Yauger Hollow Road, Lemont Furnace. The day will start with yard and bake sales at 8 a.m. Kids games will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Followed at 11 a.m. by a covered dish picnic style lunch. Gospel music will be performed at 11:45 a.m. by Pastors Paul Eckenrode and Dale Rexrode. Stat Med Vac and the North Union Fire Department will be on the field at 12:30 p.m. State police will fingerprint children for identification.
