“SEE YOU AT THE HOP,” the Ivan and Anna Faye’s Kids walk team for the American Heart Association, will host an oldies dance at 6 p.m. Saturday at the the Fairchance Fire Hall. Tickets are $10. A salad bar and root beer floats will be served. This is a family event, so children are welcome. The group is raising money for research into heart disease and plans to participate in the annual Heart Association walk on Oct. 1. For more information, call 724-736-8407.
CHARLEROI AMERICAN LEGION POST 22 will hold its annual member appreciation picnic from noon to dusk Saturday at North Charleroi Park with disc jockey Papa Gene. A paid-up Post 22 membership card or receipt is required for free admission.
Member guests are $10 each. Kids games for ages to 12 years will begin at 2 p.m. The club will provide usual food and beverage, but food donations are welcomed .
BETTER BREATHERS CLUB, sponsored by TCM Home Health, Caring Mission Home Care and Centerville Clinics, is a support group for any adult with lung disease. Meetings are held from 6 to 8 p.m. The fourth Wednesday of each month. Guest speakers and refreshments are featured at each meeting. Held at 150 N. FAYETTE COUNTY GENEALOGICIAL SOCIETY will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 17at the Uniontown Public Library. Following a brief meeting, Dr. John Kent Folmar, retired California University of Pennsylvania professor, will speak on the history of the Monongahela River. The public may attend.
