AMERICAN LEGION POST 51 will hold its annual family picnic from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday. All members are welcome.
CIVIL WAR ROUNTABLE will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at California University of Pennsylvania at the Kara Alumni House on the campus. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. John Heiser, a Gettysburg Ranger, will speak on “The Great Reunion of 1913.”
UNITED MINE WORKERS OF AMERICA Local 1248 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the district office.
MASONTOWN HIGH SCHOOL fourth all-class reunion will be held Oct. 8 at Lakeside Party Center, McClellandtown. Anyone who has attended Masontown High School at any time is invited to attend. HOPWOOD VILLAGERS will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Rick’s ’50s Cafe. Final plans for the Hopwood homecoming picnic from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday will be discussed. The picnic will be held at the Hutchinson Ball Park pavilions 2 and 3. An upcoming antique auction also will be discussed. All members are encouraged to attend and new members are welcome.
UNITED MINE WORKEDRS OF AMERICA DISTRICT TWO annual retiree/pensioner picnic will be held at noon Saturday at Ten Mile Creek Park in Fredericktown. All active and retired UMWA members, widows and their families may attend. Cecil Roberts, UMWA International president, and Danny Kane, secretary-treasurer, will be the keynote speakers. Food and refreshments will be provided. All those attending should bring a lawn chair for their own use.
SALAD AND DESSERT BAR will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Marianna Methodist Church. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children age 10 and younger.
