Tony and Betty Whipkey of Dunbar announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Whipkey, to Matthew Robinson of Martins Ferry, Ohio.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Dorothy Stefanick of Dunbar, Margret Whipkey of Springfield Pike and the late Dean Whipkey.

She is a 2005 graduate of Connellsville Area High School and a 2009 graduate of St. Vincent College, Latrobe. She is employed as an English teacher with the Connellsville Area School District. She is currently pursuing a maser’s degree in curriculum and instruction at St. Vincent College.

Her fiance is the son of Matthew and Denise Robinson of Martins Ferry. His grandparents are Robert and Regina Lavy, also of Martins Ferry. He is a 2005 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a 2009 graduate of St. Vincent College. He is employed as an auditor with the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C.

A wedding is planned for June 2013.
