Tara Marie Carter and Seth Robert Takoch of Falls Church, Va., are engaged to be married in a ceremony set for Aug. 6 in Uniontown.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Gary and Kathy Carter of Uniontown. She is a 1999 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School, a 2003 graduate of Gannon University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary/special education and a 2010 graduate of George Mason University with a master’s degree in new professional studies in teaching. She is an elementary school teacher in the Fairfax County Public Schools.

Her fiance is the son of Robert and Paula Takoch of Hopwood. He is a 1998 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and a 2003 graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. He is employed at Woods-Peacock Engineering Consultants LTD in Alexandria, Va.
