THE NINTH ANNUAL CELEBRITY CHEF COOK-OFF, SPONSORED BY THE FAYETTE COUNTY COLON CANCER NETWORK INC., WILL BE HELD AT 6 P.M.
The ninth annual Celebrity Chef Cook-off, sponsored by the Fayette County Colon Cancer Network Inc., will be held at 6 p.m. March 26 at Anthony’s Lakeside Party Center, Uniontown.
This yearly event is when local volunteers and chefs alike pull out their whisks and chef hats to assist in the fundraising efforts.
It features a large variety of food items prepared by local celebrity chefs. Every year the chefs try to out cook one another by developing their best dishes. Each chef then competes for the taste buds and pocketbooks of the participants.
The winning chef is the chef that receives the most donations and has the most popular dish.
At some fundraisers, a patron may get dainty dishes, but at the Celebrity Chef Cook-off event, patrons are sure to never leave hungry. The event is casual event, so you can leave your tuxes and gowns in the closet.
The tickets are $35 per person.
A few of last year’s menu items included Lebanese grape leaves, risotto balls, antipasto, prime rib, eggplant rotolini, appetizer trio, penne Carbonara, pizza, fresh breads, rosemary lamb chops, steak aupoivre, creme brulee and coffee.
Andrew Stockey, WTAE-TV news anchor, will be on hand again at this year’s event, where there will be bidding on auction items and a chance to mingle with your community and support a cause. There will be some special get-away raffles throughout the evening.
