Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Hayden of Homer City are announcing the birth of their first child, a son, Zander Thomas. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was born Sept. 23.

His mother is the former Ava Ulery of Uniontown.

Maternal grandmother is Lucille Ulery of Uniontown. Paternal grandparents are Richard and Sundae Hayden of Ohiopyle. Great-grandparents are Herbert and Genevieve Sproul and Louetta Hayden.
