Pappas-Patrick
The Heinz Memorial Chapel in Oakland, was the setting for the July 30 wedding of Kara Dorene Patrick of Washington, Pa., and Michael John Pappas of Brownsville. Rev. Michael Peton officiated the wedding while the Heinz Memorial Chapel organist provided music for the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Geoffrey and Rosemary Ruben of Washington, Pa.
The groom is the son of Theodore and Ruth Pappas of Brownsville.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Matron of Honor was Chandra Abbondanza of Washington, Pa. Bridesmaids were Andrea Kritzer of Fairmont, W.Va., Ashley Wilson of Fairmont, W.Va., Jill Daniels of Washington, Pa., Beth Nam of Upper St. Clair, Kelly Painter of Washington, Pa., Janann Turner of Cranberry, Pa., and Courtney Ropele of Washington, Pa. Junior bridesmaids were Hannah and Sydney Abbondanza of Washington, Pa. Flower girl was Ava Pappas of Smithfield.
Best man was Jason Pappas of Brownsville. Groomsmen were Ted Pappas of Smithfield, Andrew Duda of Brownsville, Jesse Clark of Pittsburgh, Erik Parks of Canonsburg, Brad Booker of Brownsville, Mark Abbondanza of Washington, Pa., and Matt Kritzer of Fairmont, W.Va. Ring bearer was Luke Pappas of Smithfield.
A reception was held at the LeMont restaurant situated on Mt. Washington where DJ Spyderman provided music.
The bride received her bachelor of arts in psychology from Gannon University and master’s of education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is employed as a special education teacher at South Fayette Township High School.
The groom received his bachelor of science in education from California University of Pennsylvania and his national board teacher certification in career and technical education. He is currently employed as a technology education teacher at Belle Vernon Area High School.
After a honeymoon to Sandals Resort and Spa in Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Washington, Pa.
