UNIONTOWN FLOWER CLUB will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Lardin House Inn, followed by a trip to New Geneva Stoneware.
THE GENEAOLOGICIAL SOCIETY of Southwestern Pennsylvania will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Citizens Library, Washington. Tom Miller will speak on “Were Your Ancestors Pioneers of Southwestern Pennsylvania,” detailing his many ancestors and how he traced them.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES of Southwestern Pennsylvania is looking for volunteers willing to help at the Fayette County locations. Anyone interested can call Jennifer Soisson at 724-437-2530 for more information. The next volunteer training class will start soon.
BROWNSVILLE GARDEN CLUB will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson House in Brownsville. Members will discuss fall plantings for the memorial garden at Nemacolin Castle and the downtown planter. CONNELLSVILLE AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Gibson House on West Patterson Avenue. Handicapped parking is available at the rear of the building and street parking on Patterson Avenue. This will be the society’s first chance to see all the work done by Art Graham on the North Room and the kitchenette in the Gibson House. The speaker will be Casey Sirochman, Connellsville Carnegie Free Library director and head librarian. She will discuss her vision for the library and the role of the Connellsville Historical Society in those plans. Light refreshments will be served. New members are welcome.
