Point Marion Rotary Club to host health screening
Point Marion Rotary Club will hold its semi-annual health awareness screening program from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Point Marion Volunteer fire hall on Cheat Street. This community service offered by the Rotary is an opportunity to screen against major health problems such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, anemia and cholesterol.
Appointments are made by calling 1-800-524-3414, until 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
Those without appointments are still welcome to walk-in, as the lab always brings enough supplies to accommodate all those who desire the testing. There is a cost for the blood analysis of 39 tests, with additional charges for the testing for prostate cancer, colon-rectal cancer, homocysteine test, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid profile and a urine test.
As in the past, a free continental breakfast of coffee, juice and donuts will be served to participants after the testing.
Also this year, the Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department will be serving their delicious breakfast of eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon and toast to all participants or to anyone who would like to come in just for the breakfast.
Proceeds from the breakfast will help support the fire department and their equipment needs.
The next blood analysis testing and health fair will not be held in Point Marion until the fall of 2012. For more information, call 724-725-5205.
