LONG BRANCH COMMUNITY GRANGE will be selling funnel cakes at the Richeyville Laundromat on Friday and Saturday as part of the National Road Festival. The original recipe was from the Deemston Grange, which is now part of L.B.C. Grange. They have been making funnel cakes for more than 30 years and have been known to have people travel from West Virginia and Ohio as well as throughout Pennsylvania just for a funnel cake. They have made thousands of funnel cakes from scratch over the years. The grange hopes to see everyone as they travel along the Pike and invites them to stop and enjoy a true funnel cake.
UNIONTOWN SONS OF ITALY is serving eat-in or takeout pasta dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month. The menu includes spaghetti, meat or cheese ravioli and linguini with red or white clam sauce. Dinners include meatballs, salad and bread. Containers of sauce can also be purchased. The Sons of Italy is located on Route 119, three miles north of Uniontown. Orders can be called ahead at 724-439-2290.
WHEELING CIVIC GARDEN CENTER will hold its annual clothing sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8 and 9 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10. Anyone interested in bringing clothes to sell on a 50/50 consignment basis are asked to call the garden center before May 25 at 304-242-0665. After pricing, the clothing will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 1 and 2.
The garden center’s share of the proceeds from the sale will remain with the garden center to help maintain the cultural and educational organization. Clothing that is left after the sale is donated to local charities. For more information, call 304-242-0665.
