Luke Dixon
Luke is in third grade. He enjoys making others smile with his jokester ways and he is always concerned with other children and what they are feeling. Luke loves to spend his leisure time working on the computer or playing tag on the playground with others. Luke knows all of his peers and tries to help them whenever he can. Luke is always willing to help in school with tasks, such as light cleaning, running errands and shredding. He also enjoys storybooks and is interested in learning new words. Academically, Luke excels in spelling and typing on the computer.
Charles Gallaher
Charles “Chucky” is in second grade. He is very happy in school and is very energetic. Chucky enjoys being around other children and especially enjoys the social interaction on the playground. He also likes to run around and climb on the equipment. Chucky likes to rock out with his classmates to popular kids’ songs. He also likes joking around with the staff and his peers, and he is constantly smiling and laughing. He is quite the jokester. Chucky enjoys being read to and working on his IPAD. He is also making improvements with using the iPad for communication.
Hunter Gallaher
Hunter is in second grade. He takes his studies very seriously at school and at home. He has a great personality and is very fun. Hunter enjoys socializing and interacting with his peers and the staff. His social communication has blossomed greatly in the past year. Hunter has also made great improvement with trying to use the iPad for communication. Aside from loving to be outside, Hunter has also become quite skilled at throwing and catching with his peers and staff. He enjoys climbing and running around on the playground.
Lucas Susa
Lucas is in first grade. He is a cheerful young boy with a contagious smile. Lucas loves to interact and socialize with the staff and has great eye contact. He has an infectious laugh, which is evident most when he is listening to music and dancing. Lucas enjoys looking at books and building puzzles. When the weather is warm, he prefers to take walks outside and play on the playground with his friends. He especially likes to run, swing and the sitting on the spinning wheel. Academically, Lucas excels at colors, numbers, and letters. He excels at communicating his needs and wants.
David
David is in sixth grade. He is an energetic boy that loves to play games especially Connect 4 and Sorry. David is very creative and a great artist. His creativity really emerges while playing games and putting “spins” on them. He is always thinking of others and likes to make things for people in his leisure time, while attempting to support the other students in the school. In academics, David excels in pre-algebra and spelling. During recess, David loves to socialize with friends. David’s upbeat personality and kind heart make him a joy to have.
Isabella Dehnel
Isabella “Izzy” is in kindergarten. She enjoys books and listening to stories. Izzy has a wonderful imagination and loves imaginary play. Her sweet giggle and big smile can steal anyone’s heart. She enjoys socializing and being around other children. Izzy likes to listen to music and dance. Izzy likes playing outside — especially running around and being chased. She enjoys swinging, climbing on the equipment and going down the slide. Izzy excels academically with color and shape identification. She does extremely well with communicating her wants and needs.
Talon Spoljarick
Talon is in first grade. He is an active boy when it comes to physical activities and likes to play outside on the playground. He is especially enjoys jumping around and swinging. Talon loves to laugh and can find enjoyment in almost anything. He enjoys listening to music and has a laid-back personality. Talon loves chocolate and goldfish crackers. He also enjoys watching movies and playing certain video games. Talon is able to express his wants and needs, as well as expresses what he likes and what he doesn’t like. Academically, Talon excels with color and shape identification.
Alexis Boni
Alexis is in eighth grade. She is a classic social butterfly, excellent at engaging her peers and staff. Alexis loves to laugh and thrives with sarcasm. Her laugh is quite infectious with others around her. She is a leader in helping her peers recognize humor in social situations. Alexis likes to help with making sure the area is tidy and is moving along in her pre-vocational training. She loves to listen to music, dance, and is making progress beginning to shape her speech production. Alexis has shown great improvement in using her iPad for communication.
Hannah Chaney
Hannah is in second grade. Hannah has loved school pretty much since she began attending. She loves to make lists and play teacher. She has even re-created HHRCA identification badges at home on occasion. Hannah also enjoys helping her peers and being a helper to the staff. Hannah’s speech has developed so broadly that she attempts to play school with her cousins at home. Hannah has a beautiful singing voice, and one can find her singing along to Disney favorites in her leisure time. She also enjoys dancing to music. Another hobby Hannah enjoys at school is making art projects for others. Hannah likes to be outside climbing and running on the playground.
Zachary Timms
Zachary “Zach” is in third grade. Zach likes to engage in intense one-to-one interactions with staff and peers. He loves to run in the play areas and likes to entice others to chase him. Zach especially likes the swing, the spinning wheel, and shows great balance with this equipment. Zach prefers to look at books and build puzzles. Since he has started school at HHRCA this past year, Zach has diversified his diet. He loves to listen to pop music. He has shown improvement with his attention to task and identifying colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.
