Pittsburgh in enviable position heading into this weekend’s NFL draft Open spaces

Everyone knew Pirates attendance would be down this season but the decline so far has been alarming.

Barely over 12,000 tickets sold? There were about 9,000 people actually in the park.

Yes, it was a weeknight in April but it’s still surprising that crowds would decline that much and that quickly.

The talk now is that Pitt receiver Antonio Bryant might not be a first-round pick.

Apparently some NFL teams came away with negative feelings after meeting with Bryant at the annual scouting combine.

Anyone can make a bad first impression.

When the NFL draft is involved, that can be a million-dollar gaffe.
