California 10, Clarion 1; California 11, Clarion 1 – Debbie Tedesco wrapped up both routs for the Lady Vulcans with home runs as red-hot Cal won both games by the eight-run rule.
Carmichaels graduate Daysha Grimes (5-0) fired a four-hitter in the five-inning opener with one walk and three strikeouts to earn the win, and also went 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and a run scored.
Cal led 7-1 going into the bottom of the fifth when Tedesco drilled a three-run shot to end the proceedings. She also had a double, as did teammate Melissa Brooks, who drove in two runs. Julie Wallace had two RBIs as well. Kimmie Miller and Amber Riegel collected two hits apiece.
Carmichaels graduate Abby McMinn was 1-for-3 with a run scored in the first game, and socked a three-run homer in the second contest.
Tedesco used another three-run blast in the bottom of the sixth to end the second game. She was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs scored in the latter contest. Miller also had three hits and Grimes added another sacrifice fly.
Winning pitcher Rose Walsh (4-0) tossed four innings, allowing one run on four hits, with Riegel twirling the final two frames.
