Masontown nips Anthony Crane American Legion

California 17, Waynesburg 9; California 9, Waynesburg 4 – Shane Tonkavitch had three hits in the opener, including a double and triple, and had the game’s only extra-base hit of the nightcap as California swept an American Legion twinbill.

Jason Molesky added four hits, including a double, as California pounded out 16 hits in the opener to back winning pitcher Mike Hollowood. Hollowood last four innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits.

Hollowood added a double.

Eric Churney was tagged with the loss, working the first 6 1/3 innings. He allowed 13 runs, eight of which were earned.

Tom Golacinski had Waynesburg’s only extra-base hit of the doubleheader, a double.

Matt Morich earned the victory in the nightcap, working five innings and allowing four runs (two earned). He struck out two and walked one.

Golacinski suffered the loss, starting and lasting five innings. Golacinski gave up four runs, three of which were earned.

Waynesburg fell to 3-14.
