Connellsville Legion outlasts California Track and field

Madia advances – Brownsville’s Sam Madia won five medals this weekend in the men’s 75-79 age bracket at the West Virginia Senior Olympic Open in Charleston, W.Va., earning five berths in next year’s Senior Olympic Games.

Madia won gold medals in the 100 (16.0), 200 (35.0), 400 (1:28) and javelin plus a silver medal in the discus. The top two finishers automatically gained a berth in the Senior Olympics.
