Penn-State Fayette 9, W.C.C.C. 7 – Penn State-Fayette qualified for the double-elimination weekend in the W.P.C.C. Playoffs with a win over W.C.C.C. in the pigtail game Wednesday.

PSU trailed early and tied the game in the fifth inning. Matt Kibe was the winning pitcher and Greg Lasinski took his first loss of the season.

Brandon Bryner, Ryan Gondek and Bill Gaboney all had multiple hits for PSU, and Gaboney added four RBI’s.

Fayette was down two runs in the top of the seventh when Danny Fuller kicked off the inning with a walk. Mike Miskanin tripled with one out. Jared Early grounded out, which allowed Miskanin to score the tying run, and Bryner followed with a single.

With runners on second and third, Gaboney singled, which allowed Penn State to take the lead for good.

Tentatively, Penn-State will play C.C.A.C. South at 11 a.m. Friday at Westmoreland County Community College.
