Connellsville girls lose to Upper St. Clair

By The 1 min read

The season ended for Connellsville’s girls tennis team Tuesday with a 5-0 loss to Upper St. Clair in the quarterfinal round of the WPIAL team playoffs. “They are a great team and they were just too much for us today,” said Connellsville coach Don Campbell.

Connellsville (17-3) only lost two matches during the regular season, both to Latrobe.

The Lady Falcons shut out Canon-McMillan in the first round of the team playoffs to advance to the quarterfinal round.

“There were a lot of good, long points today,” said Campbell. “They were just too consistent.”

Connellsville graduate five seniors this season.

Kristina Grove and Laura Lucas will return next season to anchor the Connellsville team.

“We’re going to be alright,” Campbell said. “I’m proud of this group of girls.”
