Connellsville rallies to topple Canon-McMillan Girls basketball

Jefferson-Morgan 49, California 22 – Shanna Yourchik moved closer to the 1,000-point mark for her career by tossing in 19 as host Jefferson-Morgan routed California in a Section 2-A game.

Yourchik upped her total to 951, leaving her 49 points shy of the prestigious milestone.

Coach Buddy Hawk’s Rockettes led 8-4, 19-7 and 34-16 at the breaks.

Haley Cratty added nine points and Charity McCann hit a pair of 3-pointers in tallying eight points for J-M (4-12, 3-6).

Cara Wentzell scored 13 points to lead the Lady Trojans (2-14, 1-8), who have lost 12 straight games.

Both teams continue section play on Thursday as Jefferson-Morgan travels to Frazier and California hosts Carmichaels.
