Pirates sign two relievers to minor league contracts
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pitchers Dennys Reyes and Mike Holtz were signed to minor league contracts by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. Reyes, 24, was 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA as a reliever last year with Colorado. He also spent part of the season with Texas, going 4-3 with a 6.38 ERA in 15 games.
The left-hander made $900,000 last year. He began his major league career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1997.
Holtz, 30, also a left-hander, split the 2002 season between Oakland and San Diego.
In 350 career big league games, Holtz is 16-20 with a 4.68 ERA.
