All-Section 2-AAA baseball team announced

Connellsville’s Andy Beucher was selected Most Valuable Player of Section 2-AAA baseball in a vote of section coaches. All players are listed in the order of total votes received.

Beucher, a shortstop for the section champion Falcons, was joined as an All-Section infielder by Laurel Highlands’ Paul Briczinski, Ringgold’s Frank McLaughlin and Albert Gallatin’s Craig Hriblan.

Briczinski also was selected as the section’s top pitcher, edging Albert Gallatin’s Josh Null and Ringgold’s Matt Nelson in that vote.

Connellsville’s Corey Fox was voted the top catcher and Ringgold’s Joe Breiter was the top first baseman. Jason Grant of Ringgold was the top designated hitter.

Outfielders selected to the All-Section team were Connellsville’s Tony Marciante, Laurel Highlands’ Greg Palladino, Uniontown’s Nathan Lewis, Albert Gallatin’s Scott Piper and Laurel Highlands’ Justin Luckey.
