Colonials stay unbeaten with road win over Vikings The Albert Gallatin boys golf team not only remained undefeated on Tuesday, it also accomplished something it had never done before with its 208-212 victory over Mount Pleasant at Norvelt Golf Club on Tuesday.
“We haven’t been a good road team in the past,” Colonial coach Bernie Wydo said after watching his team improve to 3-0 overall and in Division I, Section 2. “This is the first time we’ve beaten them on their own course.”
Frank Uglik shot an even-par 36 to pace the Colonials and earn medallist honors. Cory Moore and Matt Shay each carded a 42, Brett DiDominic shot a 43 and Tom Corazzi followed with a 45 to round out AG’s scoring.
“We just hung on and won it at the end,” Wydo said. “There wasn’t any one key hole or great shot. Uglik played well, stepped up and shot a 36. It was nip and tuck, back and forth the whole match.
“I’m just happy we finally won one away.”
Anthony Prailey led the Vikings (1-3, 1-2) with a 38, Josh Coccagna shot 42, and Scott Bando, Jordan Jones and Alex Urban all had 44.

Penn State Fayette 13, CCAC Boyce 0 – Brent Wilson and John Pochron combined on a one-hit shutout as Penn State Fayette, The Everly Campus, defeated visiting CCAC Boyce in a non-conference game called in the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.
Wilson allowed CCAC’s only hit, a single by Santino Lauletta, who was the second batter of the game. Lauletta was then wiped out on an unassisted double play when Roaring Lions shortstop Bobby Fulton snagged a line drive and tapped second base.
Wilson struck out three in four innings to earn the win. The only other player to reach base against him was via a walk in the third, but catcher Justin Corso gunned down that runner trying to steal second.
Pochron allowed only a pair of two-out walks in the seventh before closing out the game with his sixth strikeout.
The Roaring Lions (2-1) scored two runs in the first off losing pitcher Mark Lombardi, then all but put the game away with a seven-run second, highlighted by Phil Gratchic’s three-run double.
Jim Prosser doubled, singled and was hit by a pitch three times for Penn State Fayette. He scored four runs.
CCAC pitchers hit seven batters in the game altogether.
Bob Madison drove in two runs with a double and a single for the Roaring Lions, and Jared Early also had a pair of hits. Jamie Kowalczyk added a double.
Penn State Fayette hosts two noon doubleheaders this weekend at Hutchinson Field, against CCAC South on Saturday and Carnegie Mellon on Sunday.
